SONGS OF THE 3 MIRIAmS

3. Miriam of Magdala at the tomb

"They have taken away my Lord Lord Lord

away -way the Lord -ken away my Lord

and I do not know where they have lain him where have lain him.

Sir, if you have carried him away tell me where you have lain him

and I will take him him away!"

"Miriam!"

"Rabboni!"

"I have seen the Lord! I have seen the Lord! I have seen the Lord!"

2.Miriam the sister of Moses after the crossing

Vata'an lahem Miryam:

“Ah! Shiru l'Adonay ki-ga'oh ga'ah sus verochevo ramah vayam!”

And Miriam answered to them:

“Ah! Sing to the LORD, for surely He has triumphed gloriously;

He has thrown the horse and the rider into the sea!”

1. Miriam the mother of Jesus at the annunciation

Magnificat anima mea Dominum.

My soul magnifies the Lord

et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo salutari meo

and my spirit exults in God my Savior

Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae:

For He has regarded the lowliness of his handmaiden.

Ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent omnes generationes.

Behold, all generations will call me blessed.

Quia fecit mihi magna qui potens est et sanctum nomen eius.

For He that is mighty has done great things and holy is his name

Et misericordia a progenie in progenies timentibus eum.

And his mercy is throughout all generations who fear Him.

Fecit potentiam in bracchio suo

He has showed strength with his arm,

dispersit superbos mente cordis sui

He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

Deposuit potentes de sede et exaltavit humiles.

He has put down the mighty from their seat and hath exalted the humble.

Esurientes implevit bonis: et divites dimisit inanes.

He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away empty.

Suscepit Israel puerum suum recordatus misericordiae su-ae.

He has helped His servant Israel,  remembering His mercy.

Sicut locutus est ad patres nostros Abraham et semini ejus in saecula.

As He promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed forever.

O magnificat anima mea Dominum!

O my soul magnifies the Lord!
